Wind powered pump system includes Wind Turbine (Wind Power Generator or Unit) and pump which deliver water from the well to some reservoir such as water tower. The power, energy consumption and outlet discharge can be calculated by customer according to the instructions written below.
For instance the personal average consumption of water in the house is 300 liters per day. Family of 4 people consumes Q = 300 liters х 4 people = 1200 liters per day.
Let’s say that height where the reservoir is located H = 25 meters.

Mass of water to be pumped per day (24 hours) М = 1000kg/m3 х 1200 liters х 1/1000 = 1200kg.
G (acceleration of gravity) = 9.81 m/sec2.
Energy needed for pumping of water into reservoir E = M х G х H = 1200kg х 9.81m/sec2 х 25m = 294300 Joules.
Available power of pumping during the day (or 24х60х60 sec) Pp = E/24х60х60 = 294300Joules / 24х60х60sec = 3.4 Watt.
Efficiency of water pump Ip = 0.7
Efficiency of inverter Ii = 0.8
Efficiency of alternator Ia = 0.8
Efficiency of Wind Turbine Iwt = 0.36
Power of wind powered pump system for one house Ph = Pp / (Ip х Ii х Ia х Iwt) = 3.4 / (0.7 х 0.8 х 0.8 х 0.36) = 21 Watt.
To calculate the power of wind powered system for community or village, the power calculated for one house should be multiplied by the number of houses. For instance the pump system for community of 10 houses will consume 21W x 10houses = 210 Watt of power.
