DESIGNED AND MADE BY “SRC-VERTICAL”, LTD.

“SRC-Vertical”, Ltd. designs wind power generators or wind turbines (WT) from 1991 on the base of Russian Federal State Rocket Center (Design Bureau named after Academician V.Makeyev), Miass city of Chelyabinsk Region, and Russian Federal State Kumertau Aviation Enterprise, Kumertau city, Bashkortostan. Lots of different designs and systems were studied during this period. From 2004 the development of wind power research, wind powered hydrogen modules, water purification systems and much more, are being funded by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (USA) under the supervising of US Department of Energy, International Funds (including International Scientific Technical Center, Russian Government and Russian Rocket Space Agency.

AGGREGATES OF WIND TURBINE

The optimal shape of the blade was developed as a result of the joint research of Russian and American scientists. The Russian and US patents were issued on ratio of chord to the width of air foil (blade). The original shape of rotor together with optimal blade profile give the real efficiency up to 38% (ideal 42%) at any wind direction.

The blades of 30 kW turbines can be optionally equipped by wing flaps which allow even to increase the power.

The top of the development of scientific research is the patented Wind Rotor (wind wheel) of turbine. It has great advantages comparing to the other analogs – self-starting on 3.5 m/sec wind speed, smooth rotation due to two-story design where the top blades are displaced regarding the bottom on 60 degrees, optimal angle of attack and much more. One of the main advantages is the ability of “catching” wind gusts. I.e. if anemometer shows 1 or even 0 m/sec, the rotor of wind turbine may rotate so as the wind speed was 6 m/sec.

The speed of rotation of wind rotor is being stabilized on the determined revolutions per minute due to Aerodynamic Brakes designed by scientists of “SRC-Vertical”, Ltd., which do not allow further accelerating of rotor.

For North operating conditions the blades can be equipped by special coal-plastic tape which prevents the icing of the surface.

Hub contains specially designed bearing system which allows to reduce the torque of resistance greatly.
Wind turbine can be equipped by different types of alternators depending on the application. In general the alternators of “SRC-Vertical” are low-speed gearless high efficient electric machine. Regulator of alternator has electric output 24, 48 or 96 Volts of Direct Current (VDC).

Inverter is any device which converts 24, 48, 96 VDC into 220 VAC (Alternating Current) of 50 (or 60) Hz frequency. However it needs to know that inexpensive inverters give out not sinusoidal but rectangular shape of AC which is unacceptable for some sensitive devices. Due to this fact it is more reliable to buy the inverter which meets all requirements of consumer’s appliances, and/or get the advice from qualified technician. Another way is to buy the reliable tested inverter from the company which produces and/or sells wind turbines.
Usual automobile 12 Volts Batteries are used for no-break power supply system of wind turbine being produced by “SRC-Vertical”, Ltd.

Montage of Wind Turbine is not hard and can be handled by customer, if he has some special knowledge installation of mechanical and electrical modules (assembling of wind rotor on the mast, installation of local grid and devices). The montage can be provided by several ways, with or without using special tooling.

One of the ways of wind rotor montage installation (and servicing) is ground based. The mast consists of two parts connected to each other by hinge. The vertical bottom of the mast is motionless. The top part of the mast should be bent down for servicing or installation. The wind rotor is located almost on the ground where the installation, servicing or repairs are more convenient.

Wind rotor can also be assembled by special tooling which allows to lift and assemble wind rotor vertically step by step. The assembling can be even easier if using lifting cranes, fork-lifts, etc.

However any customer should understand that the Wind Turbine is complex machine with high voltage outputs. Thus to avoid traumatism we recommend to use the services of educated technicians for montage, installation and servicing of turbine.

EXTRA USEFUL EQUIPMENT

The combined wind powered hydrogen no-break power supply and water purification on the base of Wind Turbine is on the research and design (R&D) stage.

Water Purification module (Water Purifier or WaterFier) purifies sea or mineral (ground) water to drinking, as well as can be considered as water supply device for hydrogen generating module.

Hydrogen module separates purified water to hydrogen and oxygen, with further use of hydrogen in the following applications
- source of electric energy during no wind when wind turbine doesn’t operate
- fuel for automobile and other machines
