The installed power of traditional sources of RAO EES (All-Russian Energy Company) on 01.01.2001 is 155,100 MWatt or 72,5% of total installed power in Russia

Of the installed power the part of thermoelectric power stations is 78,2% (121,300 MWatt), the part of hydroelectric power stations is 21,8% (33,800 MWatt).
In 2000 the production of energy was 622,8 billion kW-hours or 71,1% of total Russian production. The part of thermoelectric power stations was 86,9%, the part of hydroelectric power stations was 71,7%.

POTENTIAL MARKET FOR WIND TURBINES
The part of Wind Power in developed countries by 2020 is planned as follows:
50% - Denmark,
30% - Germany,
24% - USA,
15% - China.

In Russia the part of Wind Power is extremely low (less than 0.5%).

If the potential market for Wind Turbines in Russia will be considered as at least 10% of total amount of traditional power sources, then the amount of Wind Power which can be installed is:
121,300,000,000 kWatt х 10% = 12,130,000,000 kWatt = 12,130,000 kWatt

This can be considered as the potential market for wind power in Russia.
