Operation

When connected to the grid, the resistive element is heating itself up to 40-500C. Foil-clad foamed heat insulator allows spreading the heat all along the room surface. In case if the Electric Film Heater (EFH) is covered by construction decor (wood, plastic), the temperature on the ceiling surface will be 30-400C.
After the infrared rays reach any hard object, its surface absorbs the rays heating itself. As the object is heated, it starts transferring the heat to the ambient air.
One of the important features of the EFH is high durability - the guarantee operation time is 25 years if the installation is made properly. The lifetime is 50 years and more. Such durability became possible due to the fact that during the operation the temperature of all component materials is far behind the critical parameters. The resistive material has melting point at 15000C, polymer film at more than 3500C.
Electric film heater doesn’t need any servicing. It is reliable and ecologically compatible. The installation of EFH on the ceiling fully changes the process of heat transfer.

In CONVECTIONAL SYSTEM the source of the heat is radiator, convector or any other element with small surface of heat exchange. The process of heat transfer runs as follows:
1. Heating of air by convectional transfer of heat from radiator surface to the cold air;
2. The heated air comes up;
3. Contacting with the obstacles (walls, ceiling) the air transfers the heat to the objects.
4. The got cold air comes down and the cycle is repeated.

INFRARED HEATING which the Electric Film Heater operation is based on, supports the following process:

1. When the electric conductors of the film heater are powered, the temperature on the film surface grows up to +450C in a few minutes;
2. Heat flow from the system elements is going directly to the floor surface and absorbs by the floor and other objects located on it;
3. The room is getting full of warm air, its temperature is maximum near the floor surface.
4. As the temperature of air on the height of thermo-controller (1 – 1.5 m) is equal to the pre-programmed, the power supply of the system will be turned off.
5. It comes the period of time during which the floor continue transferring the accumulated heat to the air. This process takes approximately 90% of all cycle.
6. When the floor surface is not able transferring the heat to the air any more and the temperature on the thermo-controller level will drop on 10C, the system will be turned on and the new cycle will start.

ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC FILM HEATER
- Natural principle of heating;
- Ideal temperature mode for comfortable vital functions;
- System operates about 5-10 minutes per hour. The rest time it spends the accumulated energy.
As natural heating source the system may increase the temperature of the air in the room on 100C in 40-50 minutes depending on the resistance of the construction obstacles of the building. If the system is covered by décor, the time of getting to the normal duty increasing.
The convectional method of heating consumes about 100 Watts for heating of 1 m2 of the room. The Electric Film Heater needs as low as 15 Watts on 1 m2 in normal operating conditions, when system had reached its normal duty. This period of time may take 2-4 weeks. The building should meet the applicable construction requirements. The height of ceiling is not more than 3 meters. The temperature on the thermo-controller is +200C.

Electric FIlm Heater can be connected directly to the plugs of Wind Turbine alternator or Solar Panel WITHOUT converting system:

Losses on the converting are as follows:

- controller losses 15-20%;
- inverter losses 15-20%.

In general case total losses may reach 50% of generated power. If the Electric FIlm Heater directly connected to the source generating the voltage alternating in amplitude, phase and frequency, the losses will be minimal.
